Our Doctors
Drs. David and Linda Johnson, a husband and wife team, are the veterinarians and owners of Commonwealth Animal Hospital. Both are graduates of the University of California at Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. David graduated in 1976 and Dr. Linda graduated in 1977. They and their highly trained staff will be at your pet's service.
They met at the University of California, Davis, during David's last year in Veterinary School. They were married in March of 1978, about nine months after Dr. Linda graduated. Both were born in California. Linda was born in San Diego and David in Sacramento. They have three sons, Matthew, Daniel and David Alexander. They complete their family with a variety of cats and dogs. They have been a husband-wife partnership since November, 1980.
Both doctors have cared for thousands of dogs and cats. They attend yearly veterinary seminars and post-graduate courses. In addition to attending continuing education courses and seminars, the Doctors are constantly reading numerous medical journals, articles and text books. New ideas and treatments are continually being incorporated into the practice to bring the most current knowledge available to serve you and your pet.
Prior to operating their own practice, Dr. David was a senior staff doctor for the Del Amo Animal Hospital and Dr. Linda was a Veterinary Consultant for over 10 animal hospitals.
Specialists in all areas of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery are available by phone or in person to assist if necessary. We may call on their services in a rare, difficult, or non-responsive case. These Doctors are all Board Certified and experts in their fields.
Dr. Linda is trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine for animals. This includes acupuncture and herbal medicine. She is certified by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. Diet, nutritional supplements and behavioral training are also part of the extensive knowledge of the Johnson's.
